This post may container spoilers for the movie. It’s my hot take while watching or directly after watching the movie. Don’t expect too much from this post.

The movie starts off with Dorthy and her dog, Toto, on her farm in Kansas. Toto bites her neighbor and wants Toto euthanized. Dorthy ant having it and runs away from home. While she’s away, she gets sucked up in a twister and she and her house falls into the land of Oz. She soon finds out she has killed the Wicked Witch of the East. Glinda, the Good Witch of the North shows up and gives Dorthy the East Witch’s shoes. Then the Wicked Witch of the West shows up and depends for those shoes back, which Dorthy refuses. The West Witch goes away and Glinda tells Dorthy to follow the yellow brick road to see the Wizard of Oz to get back to where she came. Dorthy follows it and meets the tin man (who doesn’t have a heart), the scarecrow (who doesn’t have a brain), and the lion (who doesn’t have a courage).

They arrive at the Wizard’s house and he’s like nah go away and go kill the Witch of the West. So Dorthy goes and splashes some water on the Witch of the West, she melts, and goes back to the wizard. When she gets back, she finds out he is a giant (small) fraud. This is when the MTV cameras roll out and the special guest show host of tonight’s episode of Pranked, Glinda, comes back out and tells her she just prankin Dorthy and all she needs to do is tap her shoes. Dorthy wakes up in her bed at the old homestead and they live happily ever after.

The most glaring thing about this movie is that you can tell that 90%+ of the movie was shot against giant paintings, and it’s really noticeable on a giant TV. This movie is much more of a kids movie. The plot is very simple, there is basically no risk or suspends at all in the movie, and there are quite a few ‘plot conveniences’. Overall, I give this movie a stunning 5 buckets of water out of 10.
